Re: JVM #1

So good to hear from you, Santiago! I am still enjoying my JVM as much today as when I purchased it 11 years ago! Crazy to think it’s been that long! The only other amp I play is a little 12” combo I built that is based on a Fender Princeton. These two amps pretty well cover all my needs! Thanks aga...

Re: DSL User Converted to JVM

Welcome! I just played one of those DSL40Cs in a music store a few weeks ago...got some pretty nice tones out of it...but still prefer my JVM 205H! Hope you'll enjoy yours! Those Fender Devilles aren't bad amps...great cleans and decent mild overdriven tones, and they do take pedals nicely. I have a...

Here's the thread about turning the 4-button switch into a 6-button switch:

Re: 6 button footswitch with JVM2

Yes, the 6- button footswitch works perfectly fine with the JVM2s. Some of us have actually made our 4-button footwitches into 6-button footswitches. Charlotte figured out the same PCB is used in both, it's just that two aren't wired up in the 4-button version. If you get two additional switches, yo...

Re: JVM205 and Ditto X2 Looper issues

Oh, one more thought...if you have it in the Parallel/Serial loop, you have to have the loop toggled on for it to work. On more than one occasion I thought there was something wrong and it turned I did not have the loop toggled on. That may not be your issue, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Re: JVM205 and Ditto X2 Looper issues

I have the Ditto X2 and run it in my Parallel/Serial loop and it works perfectly. How do you have the wet/dry mix set? I set mine so there is no volume change when switching the loop in and out, which is probably around 90% wet?? I can't think of any other reason you may be having trouble. The manua...

Re: Hi everybody

Welcome! I think your English is fine!

I agree 100%, I've had my JVM over 9 years and still enjoy it as much as I did when I first got it, maybe even more! It's definitely a keeper.

Re: Ready to give up on the EH EL34's..

Interested to hear what you think. I had Mullards in mine for a while and liked them pretty well...before one red plated! Hopefully my red plating issue is solved now. But now I'm running Tung Sols and have been really happy with them. I have a single EH EL34 that I have used in my single ended JCM ...

Re: New to the forum and JVM 215c from Australia

I know what you mean about punch! I think a lot of modern amps have lost that to some extent. Some of my favorite bands from the 80s have remade some of their classics, using modern high-gain amps, and while the new recordings often have more gain, they just don't have the same punch as the old ones...

Re: JVM205 Preamp tubes

He is right in the sense that you could put them in in any order and the amp would most likely perform fine. From previous discussions on the board, stemming back to the days when Santiago, the amps designer, frequented here, we discovered that the particular tube placement from the factory had most...

Smithsonian Channel's Rock n Roll Inventions - JVM content

When I was channel surfing the other day I saw this show on the Smithsonian Channel called Rock n Roll Inventions, so I decided to check it out. When I saw their logo come up, I had to hit the pause button and take a photo! Here it is: IMG_6822.JPG No question as to what amp they used for this! I've...

Re: PSA: For JVM Owners

I've not had my JVM quite as long as DH, only since 2008, but I must say I have had no issues with my effects loop. Works perfectly for me. I do use pedals in mine...delay and modulation...but have never experienced any tone suck when I engage my loop. A little patience goes a long way in setting it...

Re: Gain On/Off

The way I understand the Gain On/Off - it controls the plate voltage applied to one of the triodes. I'm no expert on this, but here's what I understand. The amount of plate voltage directly impacts the gain produced by a triode, and the amount of plate voltage is determined by the plate resistor (be...
