Re: Project - Mini Footpedal concept (Arduino powered)

Excellent stuff. Arduino's are just amazing. I have a friend who is a science tech at a school and the stuff he and his kids do with them is so creative, specially when mated up with Wifi and similar. E.G. a distributed temparature tracking system across the schools classrooms to provide evidence fo...

Re: Project - Mini Footpedal concept (Arduino powered)

Hey Bordonbert, noticed you kicking around the forum recently.

Out of interest did you ever go any further with the non-MIDI footswitch idea?

Cheers

Re: JVM & TELECASTERS?

I rejected Tele's for the longest time as being a bit 'basic' and having puny pickups but having lived with my upgraded Squier for a number of years: I totally get them now. They hang well. They are comfortable. They are well priced. There is a broad tonal range you can pull from them once you under...

Re: Does the type and make of speaker cable make a difference..?

.... we are making sounds, not reproducing them .... ... It’s the combination that makes the difference .... This !!! !!! !!!!!! So much time and energy spent on people trying to push an engineering/hi-fi sensibility into the creation of sounds. While we are shaping that sound (from guitar to guita...

Re: Nice simple Guitar set up!

I don't mind a bit of complexity but that rig is just begging to naff up in a live context. It is one thing for Vernon Reid to cart around the control console for a nuclear power station with him but he has roadies and infinite spares. I would be seriously concerned about a cable fault at the very l...

Re: ISP Decimator G-String Pedal not ideal solution !

Most people seem to have an Ok experience with the Decimator in the Parallel loop, mix 100% and -10dB. I am gonna cough and say what I always do which is 'check for ground loops if there is noise that you cannot clear'. This came back and bit me with my pedalboard recently which has front of amp and...

Re: Boss MS-3

I think on the ms3 you can configure which message/number you want it to send for each patch - maybe you have to configure that number before it sends a midi message? If the jvm's led is flashing, it is indeed waiting for a midi Program Change message, probably on midi channel 1. (I started this me...

Cool info. Have you need to change anything within the patches or are all the levels set the same as with the classic HD500?

Re: PODHD500X KEEPS CHANGING CHANNELS ON JVM410H MIDI

I'm confused. So what are you using midi for then? Are you saying...

I want the JVM to change channels when I change preset but I don't want it to change anything when use assigned footswitches WITHIN the preset to turn individual effects in and off?

Re: Which tremelo

As an aside, I just picked up a Donner Ripple. Seriously tiny pedal and analog. It was dirt cheap and has a reasonable degree of flexibility. On the downside there seems to be a slight volume boost when active and that is a bit of a pain.

Re: Which tremelo

True enough. The JVM verb sounds like a plate emulation to me and that is my go to. Back on trem. I tried out an EHX super pulsar last weekend and that sounded great. A little big though, in my view, for a trem without tap tempo. If you had the board room, worth checking out. Sent from my LG-H815 us...

Yeah, agreed, I run mine quiet at low volumes at home for practice often and I don't find myself lacking much.

Re: JVM Alternative In Small Form

Nobody has mentioned doing it with Pedals yet. Plenty of good marshall emulators out there. I now have a Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret III which gets pulled out and plugged into whatever amp to get the marshall tone. Stacks well with other pedals too if you need to pump the gain even further.
