Re: Doug Aldrich tone
I saw him a week ago with Glenn Hughes...he indeed had two JCM2000's and two Silver Jubilees. Couldn't see his pedal board but he sounded great. He used a Les Paul Goldtop and what looked like a pretty basic road-worn Strat with a bridge Humbucker for the Purple stuff. He has a great technique and b...

Re: Pedals or multieffects?
I went from GT6 in loop to pedals. I found the old GT added a slightly processed edge to the sound all the time so I switched. I always used a separate wah as well as I wasn't using the 4CM.

Re: Holy shit, finally played a Jube
Nice RK100! I'm keen to play one of those. My MK50 II is the best amp I've ever had. The RK is absolutely gorgeous...less gain than the MK50 but more punchy. You have to try a Victory Countess too...maybe not as complex as the MK50 or RK100 but it just sounds right...loud as hell too. Mine has EL34...

Re: Holy shit, finally played a Jube
Ha! Charlie is one of my oldest friends, and plays bass in my band. That's the first time I've seen his studio. Small world indeed. I see you're a Cornford fanatic too... Blimey.....I'm not in again until end of June so I'll say something to Charlie. I'm in a Southern Rock band called Sons of Liber...

Re: TC Electronic Dreamscape - Petrucci Signature pedal
I've got one....it's really really nice sounding.....which is the main reason I bought it. I use it as you describe...and only switch between two of the settings (chorus 2 and flange 2). The only thing that is a minor moan is that the knob positions are hard to see as they have a tiny indent on them...

Re: Saxon Sacrifice Album
Saw them live in Bristol last autumn and the guitars sounded great. They were both playing Gibbo Les Axcess's. Still rocking it and touring hard....and still sounding as good as ever \m/

Re: Spare head to carry with my 410c
Plenty of good suggestions already. Jet City JCA22H is great value....For smaller amps as well as the H&K Tubemeister...the lunchbox Oranges sound great..I am using a Jim a Root Terror for band rehearsals and as a spare and it's an absolute beast.

Re: Band Dilemma!....
I would probably go with the guy who will put the effort in. if you don't bite the bullet you will probably resent the existing guy a bit more every time he cocks up and that will probably lead to less harmonious split further down the line....its hard with band members but you aren't married to the...
