Re: Clean Green/Orange

I had a Superlead (YJM) and though tried to emulate the tone with the JVM, never got close. perhaps it is because my JVM is a combo and the YJM was thru Greenbacks. But probable working with tone on Clean Red with very low gain you can get close.

Re: resistive Vs reactive loads effects on sound

Well I can hear a difference over some curve pairs, subtle but it is there. There has been a lot of technical explanations on the Fractal Forum that I cannot understand due to lack of base knowledge, if you are interested just search for the discussions on firmware 11.00 and betas.

cheers

Re: resistive Vs reactive loads effects on sound

Sorry I'm so late to the party... I've been busy designing effects pedals for the past two years. [smilie=icon_eek.gif] I've played with purely resistive vs reactive loads in the past. I believe there was even a thread here where I posted some responses from a modified Marshall Power Brake I was wo...

Re: Any Boss Pedals work in the JVM Loop?

My DD3 was distorting a bit on the loop, I replaced it by a Carbon Copy and am very happy with it.

Re: Ditching the JVM

Curiously enough, I never felt the need of using pedals with the JVM except perhaps a TS in front for some modernities, and I love using it at home. Totally different experiences ....

Good luck in your tone journey!

Check here:

I got rid of all my actives (maybe it comes with aging) but when had them, at 7.5V or So replaced the batteries.

Re: Looking at upgrading tubes, not sure what to buy?

I second that. I made an small investment on tubes to get some quality stuff, a while ago, and that is enough .... overpriced stuff = snake oil.

Re: Sold my JVM & got an Axe-Fx

In thinking ahout it, this is what I find interesting. We listening to recording artists and we go out and buy guitars, amps, and gear in an attempt to sound like the tones we have heard and like. We setup, play, and wonder why our rig doesn’t sound like the tones we are trying to replicate” “WTF! ...

Re: Can Pedal power supplies cause noise in the signal

You will most likely get ground loops, specially if the outputs of the supply are not isolated and you feed with it pedals both in front and in the FX Loop.

Re: Sold my JVM & got an Axe-Fx

Totally fair. I occupy the space somewhere between the new tech recording process and the old school pro studio. I run a small home studio where I record myself and others. I'm fortunate to not be restricted by noise considerations. If some band just insists on drum sample replacement or amp sims, ...

Re: Sold my JVM & got an Axe-Fx

Yes you are totally right on that point. The music offering is so huge nowadays because that accessibility that has turned into an almost impossible task to find new stuff that catches your ears. On the other hand it made a bunch of good artists to have a chance to get exposure, but it is a minority...

Re: Sold my JVM & got an Axe-Fx

Well I disagree with you. Even if I think there is a number of people that really live music like you describe, there is also a lot of them that do it the old school way, or in any of the countless mixed possibilities. I just cannot record or jam with a proper plexi sound at home without turning dea...
