JVM410 - BAP Verdamp lang her (Special Version)

This is my special version (midnight blues) of an old 80s song, called "Verdamp lang her" (being a long time ago) from the german Band BAP. I use the Clean Green Channel for the rhythm part and the OD-2 Red for the Lead part. Played my Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with Suhr Doug Aldrich pickups. (The clea...

Re: JVM410-Whitesnake (Don't Break My Heart Again improvisat

Hello Andy, thanks for your nice feedback [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] I recently left the band I have established a few years ago. There is a time for everything. I am still searching for some old socks like me, which are grazy enough to play this dinosaur-like rock music which seems to me that nobody r...

JVM410-Whitesnake (Don't Break My Heart Again improvisation)

I currently do not practice and gig with a band. I therefore have rearranged my home recording equipment to do some recordings with my JVM410h. For the recordings I use a Rivera RockCrusher power attenuator (with MVs on 6/10 and channel volume at 5/10 to get some load on the power section) and a Rad...

Re: Sold my JVM & got an Axe-Fx

First of all: I have never owned an AXE-FX modeller, but I do have a 5 years history of intensive modelling usage with Line6 products as a gigging rig (POD X3 Live, POD HD500, James Tyler Variax modelling/magnetic PU guitars, DT-50 amp with a digital pre section and an analog power section). One may...

Re: Advice for my 2*12 cabinet ! Marshall JVM205H

Even if you don't want to use a jvmc212, the V30/G12-65 speaker combination in this cab is a pretty good one for your range of music styles: the V30 has all that midrange punch for classic rock/80s heard rock, whereas the G12-65 is less midrange, with more ear pleasing trebles and warmer sounding. S...

Re: Gary Moore DSL tone?

Thanks Andy [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] I'll take a look at it.

The BB-King vibrato is not really my thing - a bit too narrow and mosquito like for my taste.
This year I have worked on that wide wrist vibrato. This vibrato played with the index finger is currently my the area for the most improvement.

Re: Gary Moore DSL tone?

@Andy: Thanks for your feedback - you just made my day [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] The vibrato is the real challenge in Gary Moore's playing style to me. Over the years my vibrato has developed. A good vibrato seems to be an ongoing, never ending process and it is similar to good old wine IMO: it just t...

Re: Gary Moore DSL tone?

I've been wanting to achieve this searing Gary Moore tone from my 410 but am not sure which channel to start from. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0qouQRmWzqc I think he was using a DSL 100 later in his life as his main amp. Any Moore fans that have gotten close? I am performing this song in my Classi...

Re: OD2 cutting lead sound setting

True, but in my case it's still a 4 channel amp, because I use OD2 (with OD1 conversion) as my lead channel! So I have 4 channels: Clean Lead + 2 different sounding Rhythm channels - Crunch and OD1 Magic! +1 spacerocker [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] Haven't done any mods so far (with the exception of swa...

Re: How to Reach Clean Channel Paradise?

@Left Cutt: I am giging with my JVM410 for 2 1/2 months now. I have installed two new pre amp tubes: V1: EH ECC83V1 V2: TT E83CC V1 No other mods so far. The EQ-section, Resonance and Presence will do the job currently pretty well. In my Classic Rock Band I frequently need warm and crystal clean ton...

Re: Sultans of Swing / Sweet Child Of Mine - Recording

@Tonemeister: Thanks for your feedback [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] The Clean Green was the proof to buy this amp. It is not that easy to find an amp with a really good warm clean channel and some good tones in the Gain/Hi-Gain department. The more I deal with this amp, the more I discover the beauty of ...

Re: Greetings from Nuremberg / Germany

The full official labeling for the Marshall 2x12 cab (open back) is "JVMC212". It is normally sold as an extension cab for the JVM410C. The size of the cab fits exactly to the combo version. I have bought the cab before I bought the JVM410h as an extension to my former Line DT-50/212 Combo. Both spe...
