Nah, I kick the worlds ass pretty much. I also don’t feel the need to cry about how a speaker I happened to buy in a cab is being disparaged by the Internet at large. Ever heard of mirror image fallacy?
I'm not defending the 75 as much as I'm sick of the ignorant and unnecessary hatred of it. Maybe that is defending it a little, but not because I love them. They're not my favorite speaker either. But I don't shit-talk them because of it. I made a comment also about the constant mods being talked about for the JVM. I'm not against modding, but the mod talk kind of makes it seem like the JVM needs mods, and it does not. New people might think they need to mod the JVM before even giving it a shot. Internet groupthink like that bugs me, so I stand against it. I'd love for people to form their own opinions, and I am guilty of trying to steer people in that direction. It's a fine line to walk.

I also know that I am a man on my own at a site like this, so I don't think mirror image fallacy applies to me. Maybe it does. Whatever the case, I really don't care.

But you know, it's a new year, and I don't want to make more enemies, so happy new year. Peace.

I can respect that. It is a fine line to walk. I gotta tell you, I personally love the G12M-25. In my opinion a great speaker. There is a lot of hate for that speaker too. And the V30s. And the H30 Heritage. I am starting to think the old 65 is about the only speaker that there is a not a special piece of vitriol for on the Internet.

Peace.

Ha, I agree on all counts! A bridge is built...lol.

I too absolutely love G12Ms, and I think the 65 might be the best of them all sometimes. The G12M and G1265 are my own personal most used speakers.

Ha, you too.

One more thing about the speakers, if you ever get a chance to mix G12Ms and G1265s in the same cab....like an X-pattern...try it. I think it's kind of like the best of everything for Marshally hard rock tones. C'est magnifique!

I bought a 1960AV with my HJS and couldn't be happier.

However, V30's do sound like crap within the first hours of playing. I was pulling my hair... I was about to use a quartet of Classic Leads that I have (I've always seen them as an "improved" G12T-75), but I decided to give the V30's some more time... they sound quite better now.

I got the 1960AV too. But decided to swap out the speakers to Eminence Governors instead. The V30s had this ice-picky sound to it that the Governors sort of smoothed out. They're still bright, but not painful. The V30s lose the ice pick at band jamming volume, however I can't be practicing at those levels for hours. My ears can't take it. The governors don't have that ice pick sound at low levels but don't lose clarity at high volumes. My perfect speakers. :D
Guitar: Ibanez RG652FX with Air Norton neck & Tone Zone bridge | Ibanez RG1570 with Bare Knuckle War Pigs.
Amps: Marshall JVM410HJS (stock)
Cabs: Marshall 1960AV cab (Eminence Governor speakers) | Blackstar 1x12 with Eminence Governor
Effects: Line6 Pod HD500X | Boss GT-8

People happily used their stock 1960 cabs loaded with G12T75s and made great sounds with them. No one hated them until they were told to.
That's likely the truth.

Totally agree.
Have a G12T75 loaded 1960...old...broken in...sounds great with my 205h. I love V30 and mids, but found G12T75 to be a better match and crunch nicely. Maybe a different story if I had to cut thru over a really loud band.

Yep....I bought and tested lots of speakers a few years back. I always felt that the T-75s were the best speaker for all around playing. None of the usual Celestion suspects could beat a T-75 while playing more clean stuff with single coils.

Hi all,

Just bought a used HJS and read some posts here. I did not play very long so far. I have several questions.

Mine is from 2013.

Does this amp has the midi chip problem? If yes should I contact then the German (I life here) support?

Regarding the bias I found so many different information.I know that the recommended setting for the normal JVM 410h is 70mV per bias pot. Is this the same for the HJS. My questioan is more related to life time of the vales not sound. What is a max setting?

Thanks in advance.
Best regards Juro

Hi juro1971, and welcome. I have a few JHS heads and some of them did need a foot switch chip replacement to work as expected. Here's the link I posted that has all the information you will need.
