Video with Santiago Alvarez talking amps (in Spanish)

Post by Andy » Sun May 31, 2015 6:25 pm

This is a video in Spanish of Santiago Alvarez (Technical director at Marshall amplification and designer of JVM's AFD, YJM etc.) talking about amps, whether valve, transistor or modellers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=807&v=lvVifgLtBJQ

In it he explains why a 100w Plexi/JVM can go up to 180watts output , but a transistor amp would not, because in laymans terms if you overdrive transistors they do not sound good, but valve amps do, because of the way they generate harmonics.

Very informative, thanks. [smilie-rock]

Plus, I'm damn glad I have something awesome to practice Spanish with, I can't stand dubbed movies [smilie=icon_mrgreen.gif]

I wish I'd taken Spanish lessons for longer than six weeks.
Play it like it's the last time it'll ever be heard.
