JVM410HJS Tone Settings

Post by bullldozer1984 » Wed Sep 27, 2017 5:04 am

Hey Guys,

After just 2 days with my Satch head, I am completely and utterly in deep deep love. With my Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul with Slash pickup and a 1960AV cab and an MXR 10 band EQ I have the ultimate Marshall tone. It is chimey yet not harsh, greasy in the mids but not honky and mean in the low end but tight.

MXR EQ in front of amp to shape the bass before it hits the preamp.

Rock Rhythm
MXR 10 band Eq - Set a 0 dB unless stated otherwise. -12 dB at 125hZ and 250hZ, -6 dB at 500hZ.
Crunch Orange - Gain 6, Treble 2, Mids 5, Bass 5, Volume 5, Pres and Res 5.

Heavy Rock Rhythm
MXR 10 band Eq - Set a 0 dB unless stated otherwise. -12 dB at 125hZ and 250hZ, -6 dB at 500hZ.
OD1 Orange - Gain 6, Treble 2, Mids 5, Bass 5, Volume 5, Pres and Res 5.

Lead
MXR 10 band Eq - Set a 0 dB unless stated otherwise. -12 dB at 125hZ and 250hZ, -6 dB at 500hZ.
OD2 Orange - Gain 7, Treble 2, Mids 5, Bass 8, Volume 5, Pres and Res 5.

GIve it a try if you have never tried an EQ in front before and you want to really tighten up that low end. Depending on your guitar/pickups/technique you will need to tailor it to suit your setup.
