Solos are usually higher frequency than rhythm, so on my EQ I have boosted the frequencies where solos live but
reduced the very high frequencies to cut fizz and generally make it smoother.
I have boosted lower frequencies for very meaty rhythm stuff but cut very low frequencies to reduce flub, and
anyway that's where the bassist's job is at ...

Depending how you use it in the loop or infront of the amp you can use the EQ to increase volume also (it is on/off switchable as a stomp box).

Rory Gallagher and Brian May use(d) treble boosts ... say no more :-)

Back to the thread topic, I find OD1 green with the EQ is very ACDC.

I play on the crunch channel green mode with a substantial amount of output valve disto, and I have a cable long enough to leave my room and play in the living room so I don't become deaf (LOL). I mean, that's what rock n' roll's philosophy was right? Run valves till they bleed? [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] [smilie=icon_razz.gif]

But because I'm not alone in a 2 story house with grandparents I usually use the crunch orange like DH said. I crank the gain higher for older stuff (think Whole Lotta Rosie) and turn it down for some songs (Hells Bells doesn't really need that much, neither does Thunderstruck...) Now that I think about it, OD1 green might do even better than crunch... thanks Andy ^^
