Are you saying you can mix 2 different poweramp tubes(KT77 & EL34's) in the jvm?

I probably should of updated this a while ago...

I ended up getting 4 JJ KT77 and 5 JJ EC883. After using them for a some time, here is what I cam to conclude.

What I had in before is as follows:
Power tubes: 4 Stock Marshall EL34s
V1(under cap): White Branded Marshall (Stock)
V2: JJEC883
V3: White Branded Marshall (Stock)
V4: Mesa Boogie tube (this was a quick replacment that I picked up from my local Music store
V5: White Branded Marshall (Stock)

With the new set that consists of 4 JJ KT77 and 5 JJ EC883:

Clean channel is nice. It was nice before
Crunch: My Fav with the new tubes. Possibly better than it was before
OD1: I kind of liked the way it sounded before
OD2: I liked this one the same as before as well.

I am not that great when it comes to describing what I hear and the difference in the two. I just know what I like when I hear it. Before my new tubes arrived, I was loving the tone I was getting. But I really wanted to try the KT77s. So I swapped them out anyways. Biasing at around 85 a side. I kind of liked the compressed roar of the EL34s. but as I said the Crunch channel is really nice with the KT77. I am just not sold on OD1 and OD2 with the KT77.

Anyone have any suggestions at all... besides putting back my old EL34's. :) I am sure I will eventually do that but I want to experiment a little first. Maybe I should try some different preamp tube combinations. What do you guys think?
