Hello Forum

Post by jtyche » Sat Jun 24, 2017 7:22 pm

I'd like to say hi to everyone, I registered on the forum last week after buying a new JVM 215C. I've been playing on a JCM2000 TSL 602 for the last decade and wanted a 1 12 combo. Tried the 215C locally and fell in love. The cleans are better forsure on the JVM and the midi control with 3modes per channel I couldn't go wrong..
Playing the amps side by side I like every thing about the JVM better. Pedals in the loop work perfect (not so much in the TSL) Also my rack effects work great in loop. I heard of some loop issues but its working with what I have perfect. Midi set up was a breeze, hooked up with midi mate foot controller and my Laney (wet dry wet) set up JVM in the center dry, rack effects running wet into laneys. And that setup sounds gorgeous. Ill be gigging with it for the first time next weekend, gonna use pedals in front and in the loop. The wet dry wet setup sounds great but takes up to much stage space. But all In all im very happy with it and will get to play it at band volume tonight, 4 peace band 2 guitars, keys, bass and drums. Im sure all will be good,we play 80s top 40 rock to whats goin on now. I also have a Peavey 6505 412 cab with Eminence CV-75s in it at our rehearsal garage. I will see how it sounds with that, the TSL sounds great with that cab and speakers. The forum seems really great and has lots of usefull info and im very glad to be a member !!

Welcome! Looks like you are well on your way to tonal goodness!

The MIDI control of the JVM was what first attracted me to it. But it was the first 10 minutes in my bedroom, where I achieved the Marshall goodness I was always looking for, that got me hooked.
JVM205h. Added 100K from R94/C43 to ground for V1b (OD Channel) gain reduction. Installed 1000pF in series with 47K, in parallel with R58 (82K), to reduce power amp squeal. V3 Valve Wizard diode protection mod. Active power soak for more EL34 goodness.
Guitars: Angus Young Sig SG w/ Pearly Gates Neck and Custom Custom Bridge, Les Paul Special (2 pups) w/ SD Stacked P90s. And occasionally a Warmoth Strat w/ Dimarzio True Velvet in N, M, SD P-Rails in B.
HD500x in 4CM for all pedals and Midi control of 205h (grounds lifted on two of the signal cables).

Yes namklak its all goodness, ive had marshalls since the mid 80s. JCM800 to a JCM2000 and now a JVM,multi channel with 3 modes per channel and midi what more could I ask for!! And I was real happy with all the modes at band volume, I loved the JCM2000 TSL but man this JVM is superior.
