Slash in Concert

Post by Geno_xl » Thu Aug 09, 2012 6:11 pm

So I had a chance to see Slash last night in St. Louis. It was my first time seeing him with any lineup (GNR, VR, etc) and it flat out rocked. It was one of the best shows I've seen the last few years. The whole band sounded great and looked like they were having fun. After this concert I'm pretty sure that Slash=Rock and Roll. Amazing gig, Slash didn't play a note wrong, none of the old drunken/stoned looseness, his tone sounded fantastic !

Miles Kennedy was great but I preferred the bassist singing, more axl/velvet style.

Had a whoppin great curry afterwards - TOP NIGHT !

Friggin' sweet, man! I got to see Slash at Rocklahoma when we played it, and he was incredible, but a proper curry? I could get that when I lived near New York, but not since... [smilie=icon_sad.gif]

We had Ginger Wildheart first up, Tremonti second...before Slash and Miles.

The sound for Tremonti was not perfect but the band were great. Mark used a Mesa Dual Rectifier and looked like a Bogner in a rack too. Wolfgang Van Halen was standing in on Bass with them for some reason.

Slash sounded much better! He had a wall of signature stacks. His other guitarist (frank Sidoris) had a great sound from his Wizard amps too.

It was a great set. First encore and the got Mark Tremonti back out for 'Rise Today'! A great night [smiley-shreds]

Brixton academy is an awesome venue.

Sounds like it was a good night.

Jealous you got to see Mark, his album is killer.

Highly recommended. [smilie=headbang.gif]

Yep...love the venue. You can get a good view from that big sloping floor. And the bar is way too easy to get to! It always feels like there is no roof to me!

Yes the Tremonti album is ace...quite heavy though. He used my other amp (Cornford RK100) to record most of it apparently [smilie=gt-happyup.gif]

Oh man that would have been cool to see. I haven't seen alterbridge yet.
