I saw him lots of times including the Still got the blues tour. For me he is the best guitarist I ever saw, with his power, speed and attack mixed in with feeling soul and dynamics.

He was talking of opening a blues bar near to the hotel where he died, which isn't so far from me, that would have been so freeking incredible ... but sadly it wasn't to be :(

Dunno if you have heard this BBM stuff ...

Did you see him live ?

no. I would have done anything/gone anywhere to see him. that kinda stuff could never happen here except maybe in New Orleans but as far as i know he never came anywhere near our world. I can`t imagine a better show! He played with everything he had and that`s the true"Story of the Blues'! Consider yourself Very lucky my friend!

I saw Gary Moore too. At the Colston Hall in Bristol, England 2002...he had a power trio then with the bassist from Skunk Anansie and the drummer from Primal Scream. It was very loud!

The first time was Birmingham Uk with Albert Collins and the midnight blues band, brilliant gig which got me hooked, also saw him With BB King in Birmingham, but sadly they didn't play together,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL1h90t1QKA

in Italy at Pistoia blues festival in the pouring rain right up front, i remember thinking that he was playing faster than my ears could hear ...

in Spain too including the wonderful ampitheatre in Cordoba where I was front row and took these vids which you may have seen already.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpkyJW8dwrE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AietL4H310A

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug3JHwbv-Ac

That is what 3 cranked plexis sound like from 20-30 feet !, more or less behind the PA speakers.

It was recorded with a digital camera which is totally overloaded, but that's the best guitar sound I have ever heard , and I have heard Alvin Lee, Rory Gallagher, Ritchie Blackmore, Geoff Heeley, Joe Satriani, Angus Young and loads of others.

I saw him in some small town in the middle of nowhere in Spain, in a very small tent thing which was a great gig, someone threw a spliff at him in the middle of a solo (either to offer it him or just drunken stupidity) and he stopped and was really mad, but after that he played even more like a deamon.

Did you know that Gary Moore was left handed - but played right handed ?
That may explain his vibrato and power a bit - with a really strong fretting hand ...
